The Parade March is an integral part of what Pride is, so our Virtual Parade will be a special part of our online festival in September.
Join us to celebrate, be visible, be loud and be proud.
The parade march is a bold statement for equality and diversity, to celebrate our community and to show that hatred and prejudice have no place in our city, or anywhere. We want our virtual event to be no different so get creative, wave those flags, make banners and placards (no swear words please!) and let’s raise our virtual voices as we continue to fight for true equality for all.
We’ve seen horrific incidents take place overseas and here in the UK. Backwards steps on hard-fought rights and changes in policy overturned or kicked to the long grass. Attacks on communities all over the world. At a time when Covid-19 stops us taking to the streets, this is a challenging time for our community both in tackling increasing hate and prejudice but also stealing our visibility and the empowerment that Pride bring.
Let’s still be a beacon of hope. Let’s remember where we’ve come from, celebrate where we are and keep fighting for a future of true equality for all.
The virtual parade will be streamed from 11am on Saturday 12 Sept as part of our Virtual Pride Day celebrations
We’ve been collecting submission for members of the public, charities, businesses, groups and organisations that would have been in the parade along with our partners and supporters for 2020. This will all be edited to bring the joy and colour of the parade directly to you to participate in safely.
The introduction and ending will be BSL Interpreted.
Messages from our partners will have closed captions.
There will not be any strobe lighting or flashing images
