Youth Area

A relaxing space for our next generation

The Youth Area is a designated safe space at Pride Day for young people aged 13-21 to come together and celebrate with their community. Hosted by Creative Youth Network along with The Diversity Trust, this area will be sensory aware and fun for all young LGBTQ+ folk and allies.

In the area you’ll find flag, bracelet and jewellery making all day as well as general art supplies available. There’s a sensory space and a display on queers through history. Plus workshop and talks running including:

DJ workshops

PROUD 2 be youth sessions and Bristol Youth LGBTQ+ groups talk

Clown and drama games workshop

Well-being and queerness workshop

There will also be youth worker drop-ins and opportunities for young people, and their families, to chat with Creative Youth Area LGBTQ+ well-being specialists, who will be leading this area.

This is an Alcohol-Free zone.

Volunteering

We are looking for volunteers to support our Youth Area at Bristol Pride. Every year we create a safe, friendly, fun and non-alcoholic space for young people and by young people. This is an opportunity for young people at pride to celebrate, make new friends and get involved in fun and engaging activities. The youth area is run by two experienced LGBTQ+ youth workers and hosts a programme of activities informed by young people themselves. This years’ activities will include craft activities, group games and some workshops for young people to get involved in.

We’d love to hear from QTIPOC young people and those with experience of social and community spaces.
