Due to the current circumstances around Covid-19 the Queer Vision film festival held in July has been postponed. All submissions will be shortlisted in July with a winning film submitted to IRIS Prize which is due to take place in October.
All shortlisted films will be notified in July and Bristol Pride look to screen all shortlisted films when possible. Due to these changed circumstances we have extended our entry deadline and notification dates.
You now have until 15 June to submit your film.
We are currently open for submission for Best of British, in partnership with Iris Prize. We screen a shortlist of films as part of Pride 2020 and select a winner who will automatically be submitted directly into the shortlist of the Iris Prize Best British short category.
The winner of the Iris Prize Best British Short 2020 will receive a package of sound post-production services sponsored by Pinewood Studios Group, valued at £20,000. They will also be invited to Cardiff to sit on the 2021 Iris Prize Best British Jury. Whats more, new for 2020 all films in the Iris Prize Best British shortlist will be broadcast on Film4 and streamed on their online streaming service, All 4. All Iris Prize British short films will also be considered for the Iris Prize shortlist.
All entries should be by, for, about or of significant interest to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, non-binary or intersex audiences, and must have been completed within 2 years prior to the Iris Prize 2020 submission deadline (That is they must have been completed since 22 June 2018).
All short films must having a running time of 39 minutes or less.
All submissions must agree to and abide by the rules & terms of the the 2020 Best British Iris Prize LGBT+ Film Festival.
