Love with a mythical Selkie in this charming, Cornwall-set, drama.

Drawing inspiration from both classic rom-coms and traditional English folklore, director Isobel Moncloa Daly examines the complexity in letting go. In a rapidly gentrifying town in Cornwall, heartbroken Morwenna is struggling to make ends meet, fighting the impending loss of her family home following the passing of her grandfather.

Out steps Inga – from the sea, no less – an eccentric woman dressed in fur. After a single, magical night together, Morwenna discovers that Inga is a Selkie: a mythological shapeshifter able to transform between seal and human form by means of her fur coat. Before long, Morwenna is head over heels for Inga, whose feelings prove to be as fickle as the tide. Washed Up is a charming, homegrown exploration of identity, shifting community, and the catharsis in learning to say goodbye.

There will be a Q&A on the night with members of the cast and crew.
