This year our Parade moves online for a very special virtual event
The Parade March is an integral part of what Pride is, the very first Pride events were just marches, so our Virtual Parade will be a special part of our online festival in September.
Join us to celebrate, be visible, be loud and be proud.
The parade march is a bold statement for equality and diversity, to celebrate our community and to show that hatred and prejudice have no place in our city, or anywhere. We want our virtual event to be no different so get creative, wave those flags, make banners and placards (no swear words please!) and let’s raise our virtual voices as we continue to fight for true equality for all.
Let’s remember where we’ve come from, celebrate where we are and keep fighting for a future of true equality for all.
Submissions are NOW OPEN | Closing date Sunday 2 August
Would you have been hula hooping in the parade? Carry on! Or you could wave the LGBT+ flag that showcases your identity and community. Take a picture of you with your banner just like you would on the streets or show off that incredible Pride outfit and look you had planned.
If you are not able to be visible on social media please feel free to wear a mask or send a picture of your placard.
This years Parade Partner is Dyson with the message:
Unafraid to challenge convention, we forge our own path – different and authentic. Together we strive to find a better way.
Their support has enabled us to make the virtual parade happen and supporting Pride to happen this year.
Making a submission is really easy, just get your pride on, grab those flags and take a selfie, get a friend to photo you or record a short video.
Get as creative, create a float, use colour, props, wave those flags, make a placard with your favourite Pride Slogan on.
We want the parade to have its usual colourful and vibrant feel, feel free to make it your own.
You can submit a photo or video for your entry. All video entries must not exceed 15 seconds.
The Deadline for Submissions is Sunday 2 August
Please ensure your photo or video is taken in landscape mode (sideways) on your phone / camera.
Avoid background noises – turn of TV’s, music etc. We will provide the soundtrack
Stabilise – prop up your phone or camera or use two hands to avoid shaky footage or blurry images
Don’t use digital zoom – move the camera closer.
See our Top Tips Page here for more pointers to ensure your entry is used.
