Connect. Watch. Discuss.
Bringing LGBTQIA+ content to your home, come and (chez) lounge with us.
As we currently can’t be in the cinema, we don’t want to lose the connection that we have over films, so, we come together from our own homes.
After the success of our online watch parties last year from ‘But I’m a Cheerleader’ to ‘Happiest Season’ and with the ongoing uncertainty, we will be running a monthly ‘Sofa Club’.
Each month we will pick a film or tv episode which is available on TV or major streaming services such as Netflix or Amazon Prime. Our aim is to make these as accessible as we possibly can, with what queer titles are on offer.
Before we start our collective viewing, we’ll invite everyone to digitally meet-up via Zoom. This gives us a chance to say hello and introduce what we’ve chosen before pressing play. After the main feature has finished, there will be a chance to gather in the Zoom room to discuss what we’ve watched.
Already seen it this month’s pick? Join us for the discussion! We want to hear what you thought about sweeping cinematography, the lead’s terrible attempt at a British accent or the soundtrack that should be showered with awards.
All discussions will be hosted by the Queer Vision team and may include special guests and partner organisations.
Queer Vision’s Sofa Club will run on the 3rd Thursday of the month, or, in line with a specific new release date.
Sofa Club tickets are available on a pay-what-you-feel (PWYF) basis, this means that there is no set price for a ticket, making sure that it’s as accessible to as many people as possible. We encourage those who are able to afford it to buy one, this will allow us to continue to run the club on a PWYF basis.
If you have any access needs, please get in touch and we will endeavour to do our best to meet them.
