Pride 2017: 30-9 July | Pride Day: Sat 8 July

Justin Utley

February 8, 2015

New York Singer/Songwriter Justin Utley is a real inspiration and we are proud to add this international star to the 2015 main stage line-up for Bristol Pride. An ‘out’ ex-mormon and survivor of ex-gay therapy Justin speaks candidly about his life and experiences through his inspiring storytelling and powerful music.

Nominated by the LGBT Academy of Recording Arts for four OUTMusic Awards, including song and artist of the year. Winner “Best Folk/Country Song of the Year and recipient of the Inspirational Award by the FBI’s LGBT Division, Justin also composed the theme song for the Emmy Award winning movie “Shadow of Light”.

As well as being a feature performer for the 2002 winter Olympics he’s performed at Pride Festivals worldwide, including Stockholm, New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas and opening for international acts including Icona Pop, Tegan & Sara and Margaret Cho.  If we’re lucky he might perform some number from his lead roles in Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Elton John and Tim Rice’s Broadway hit Aida.

Those that want a full set from Justin will be pleased to know he is performing at The Tunnels in Bristol on 13 March and this is also a fundraiser for Pride. Event Page Here
