We are opening a special ‘Pop Up’ shop in the prestigious Cabot Circus to kick start our Bristol Pride awareness campaign and to offer the chance to find out more about what we do and what is on offer across Bristol for LGBT History Month. Located on the 1st Floor near Starbucks this is your chance to meet the team and find out about the latest plans for the Bristol Pride 2013. Join the Facebook event here!
The shop is open from the 15 – 28 February (10am – 8pm Mon-Sat & 11am -5pm Sun) and will also be displaying entries to their LGBT Bristol photo competition, special drop in sessions, tea and coffee and information from service provider and events in the area.
You will also be able to get tickets and supporter wristbands for Bristol Pride 2013 including the very limited VIP ticket experience along with specially designed cotton shopper bags, key-rings, ribbons and even make your very own badges to show support.
We have a special launch night on Sat 16 Feb from 6pm with drinks, bespoke hand and arm massages from Lush Cosmetics and Krispy Kreme donuts at a special fundraising price. So why not ‘pop’ in and meet the team, see the exciting plans for Bristol Pride 2013 and make a donation or get a ticket to help make Pride happen.
LGBT History Month
We’ve had some great events already including a fantastic We Are: Remembering fundraiser at The Queenshilling which raised over £500 – a way to go yet but a great start for Pride 2013! Keep your Coming Out stories coming in – throughout February we want you to tweet us your story of coming out to @wearefest or email it in (keeping to the 140 character limit) to email@example.com and send in your images of LGBT Life in Bristol (resize to 1mb) for our Pride Photo Competition – we have some great prizes to win and all you need to do is send in your original image from LGBT life in the South West along with a short description before the 1st March!
Lastly don’t forget
OutStories Bristol exhibition in Mshed – be sure to visit the exhibition it’s only on until the 3rd of March! It’s in the wonderful Mshed and with nearly 19 months in the making features a fantastic collection of LGBT histories from across Bristol, artefacts images and of course Bristol Pride images and paraphernalia including our giant rainbow flag!
