Bristol Pride 2016 Family Area is proudly sponsored by Irwin Mitchell LLP
Ever growing the Family area has become a popular and integral part of Pride. Come celebrate Pride with the whole family in our dedicated Family Area, where you will find a great space to relax, celebrate and enjoy whilst soaking up the great Pride atmosphere.
We’ve moved to a new home for 2016 and the Family Area will be located on At-Bristol’s Millennium Square and At-Bristol will be on hand as our Family and Youth Activities Partner too.
We’ve seen the Lord Mayor hula-hooping along with the children, enjoyed workshops and craft skills and the area itself is a great chance for families to celebrate Pride together whilst celebrating your identity proudly or just enjoy a great day out in a safe space.
Activities include Kite Making classes in collaboration with Bristol Avon Flyers and Bristol Kite Festival along with play activities and games. We’ve also teamed up with SuperPirates, a Bath-based children’s events company, who create colourful and wildly fun play areas, run by energetic play workers and trained actors. They’ll be in Millennium Square running riot and keeping small people thoroughly entertained throughout the day!
We will also be screening the Wimbledon finals on the big screen and Main Stage from 6pm so you can catch our headline acts from Millennium Square.
The Family Area at Pride is also the chance for LGBT Parents and parents of LGBT children to come together, network and socialise, to share stories of being an LGBT Parent or having LGBT Kids or simply to show the younger generation how wonderfully diverse life is and ensure the next generation are the ones that finally stop the hate. So expect craft activities, giant toys, magicians, face painters and more. Everything to keep kids (and the kids at heart) happy all day.
